the swirl

This series of hypnotic portraits represents my early experimentation with shape and value, exploring how contrasts and simplified forms could convey depth and emotion. Created during my high school years, these drawings pushed me to step outside my comfort zone and approach portraiture in a fresh, unconventional way. Rather than focusing on precise details, I played with bold shapes and shifts in tone, allowing me to capture the essence of each subject through abstraction and contrast. This project was both a challenge and a breakthrough, helping me discover new techniques and deepening my understanding of composition and balance.
